Always choose food supplements that are officially recognised and authorised in Belgium or Europe. In Belgium, these products must receive a notification number from the FPS Public Health, which guarantees that they comply with all legal standards.

- The FASFC is responsible for monitoring this.

A market with high quality standards
Be-Sup, the Belgian federation for food supplements, aims to reassure and properly inform consumers:
- All supplements on the Belgian market must be notified in advance to the FPS Public Health and are checked for composition and labelling.
- Within Europe, Belgium is regarded as "best practice" thanks to its strict notification system, food safety supervision and the nutrivigilance system introduced in 2023 to monitor side effects.
- The FASFC supervises through inspections at producers, points of sale and webshops, and has a specialised e-commerce unit for this purpose.
